Strengthen Your Financial Future

About the Program:

The Boston EITC Campaign, with the City of Boston and Mayor Menino, is launching a new program called Strengthen Your Financial Future. It will be offered through three Campaign sites: DotWell’s Codman Square Technical Center in Dorchester, the Roxbury Resource Center in Roxbury, and ABCD’s Tremont Street location in downtown Boston. We will be providing financial coaching sessions for participants based on the foundation of five key services:

  • Credit advising
  • Budgeting
  • Banking information
  • Benefits screening
  • Referral assistance

Since this effort will be very volunteer driven, this is where we hope you can help out! We are seeking committed volunteers who have both a knowledge in this area and willingness to work with participants on an in-depth basis.

Asset Building Volunteer Description:

The Strengthen Your Financial Future Program will employ teams of professionally trained Asset Building Volunteers at three of the Campaign’s partner locations. The Asset Building Volunteer will offer individual coaching sessions year-round to improve participant’s financial strength.

Asset Building Volunteers will receive training from a Certified Educator in Personal Finance during two half-day training sessions starting in late September, after which volunteers will be asked to work for two hours a week during the off-season (October-December and then April-September).

If you are interested in serving as an Asset Building Volunteer, please return the completed application to Jessica Cook at the Boston EITC Campaign.
