Federal Reserve Bank of
Boston promotes sound
growth and financial stability in New England and the nation.
The IRS-SPEC
office is committed to serving the low to moderate income,
disabled, and non-English speaking taxpayers of Boston by
supporting free tax preparation sites, volunteer training, and
tax education/awareness campaigns through trusted community
partners.
The Greater Boston Chamber of
Commerce provides the
coalition with corporate recruitment and support. Paul Guzzi,
the CEO of the Chamber supports the Mayor's effort to maximize
the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Action for Boston Community Development
ABCD, Inc. is a private
non-profit human services agency providing opportunities for
upward mobility to hundreds of thousands of Boston residents
through innovative, quality programs & services since
1962.
Created by Congress in 1933, the
FDIC
supervises banks,
insures deposits up to $100,000 and helps maintain a stable
and sound banking system.
Dotwell serves as a resource for improving the physical,
mental and social well being of the community. Dotwell
maintains two tax sites, Codman Square Tech Center and
Dorchester House.
The Boston Bar Association
has partnered with the
Boston EITC to provide volunteers from its membership for
several tax seasons.
Boston Cares
serves as a resource
for volunteers throughout the city of Boston and has regularly
provided the Boston EITC with a significant portion of our tax
season volunteer complement.
Jewish Vocational Service has been an innovative leader providing
unparalleled workforce development services to the Greater
Boston community for over 60 years, cultivating strong
relationships with clients and employers and achieving an
excellent track record of results.
Suffolk
University is a major contributor
to the EITC Coalition. Suffolk provides us with computer lab
space for our volunteer tax preparer training sessions, as
well as student volunteers.
The Mayor's
Health Line at the Boston Public Health Commission www.bphc.org is the
oldest operating information and referral line in the state,
connecting consumers with the health care they need.
Greater Boston
Legal Services has been the Boston
EITC's legal resource for several
seasons.
State Street
Bank has supported the
coalition with funds and has provided volunteers for
seveal years.
1199 Service Employees International
Union is one of
Massachusetts fastest growing service unions with 11,000
health care employees from Boston to Cape Cod to Pittsfield.
Their mission is to improve the lives of working people and
their families and lead the way to a more just and humane
society.
American Consumer Credit Counseling
has provided the Boston EITC
Coalition with volunteer credit advisors and with funds to
support our credit advising program.
The Boston Housing Authority houses approximately 10 percent of the city's
residents through its programs. The BHA also provides
affordable housing through the administration of several
rental assistance programs.
Goodwill Industries will enhance the quality and dignity of life for
individuals, families, and communities on a global basis,
through the power of work, by eliminating barriers to
opportunity for people with special needs, and by facilitating
empowerment, self-help, and service through dedicated,
autonomous local organizations.

Citizens Bank is a
funder and a supporter of the campaign. With the help of
Citizens Bank we are striving to open bank accounts for those
who rely on check cashing services and provide options to
those receiving large tax refunds to save their money and
build assets.
Sovereign
Bank is a funder and
supporter, opening bank accounts at the tax
sites.
Boston Connects, Inc. (BCI)
is the non-profit
organization charged by the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development to implement the strategies of
Boston’s Empowerment Zone.
Clipper Ship
Foundation was founded
in 1979 by David Parmely Weatherhead. The foundation makes
grants to federally tax qualified nonprofit organizations
offering human services to individuals living in Greater
Boston (cities and towns lying on or within Route 128) or the
cities of Lawrence and Brockton. Priority is given to those
organizations devoted to helping the homeless and ill-housed,
the destitute, the handicapped, children and the aged, or
addressing the needs of new immigrants and other needy
communities and neighborhoods. Special consideration will also
be given to emergency disaster situations, worldwide.
Clowes Fund, Inc.
is a family foundation
established in 1952, in Indianapolis, Indiana; which makes
grants in Indianapolis; Seattle, Washington; and northern New
England to support human services, education and the arts.
Mabel Louise Riley
Foundation helps
organizations to address important community-wide concerns or
critical issues, or to achieve a broad impact for the public’s
benefit, rather than to meet routine needs. In establishing a
general purpose foundation, Miss Riley’s only suggestion to
her trustees was that particular consideration be given to the
needs of children and youth. The Mabel Louise Riley Foundation
began operation as an active member of Boston’s philanthropic
community in May 1972
Cathay Bank
was initially founded
2002 for the purpose of raising and administering funds for
community based nonprofit organizations.
Bank of America
has been providing the
Boston EITC with volunteers for several
seasons.
