Article 80 Review Process



Why is review required?


Small Project Review, described further on pages 10-11 of Citizen's Guide to Development Review requires design review by the architects of the BRA's Urban Design Department for projects that are too small for Large Project Review but are larger than a minimum size. In most locations, Small Project Review applies to projects that add at least 20,000 sq. ft. of gross floor area or at least 15 dwelling units.


What are the criteria for review?

An Article 80E submission is required in accordance with Article 80 of the Boston Zoning Code. You can read more about these requirements in Article 80 and in A Citizen's Guide to Development Review.
